DoorWin replaces broken GPW and wired glass and adds compatible vision lites to steel doors across Toronto and the GTA.
Here is what customers usually need to know before calling or sending photos.
Use this path when the wired panel is cracked or shattered but the existing door lite or fixed steel frame can remain.
Use this path when a compatible steel door needs a new cut-out, lite kit and GPW glass for safer sightlines.
If the steel door, frame, closer, hinges or rating label are also damaged, the fire-rated or hollow-metal door service may be required.
These two examples show the main service paths: replacing damaged wired glass in an existing opening and preparing a compatible steel door for a new GPW vision lite.
The damaged wired panel is identified, removed and replaced with compatible glass while the existing door lite or fixed steel frame is kept when it remains serviceable.
When the door and project requirements allow it, the opening is measured and cut for a compatible vision-lite kit before the GPW glass is fitted and finished.
Review close photos of the wire pattern, the full door or frame and any labels or lite-kit markings.
Confirm whether the job is glass-only replacement or a new vision-lite opening in a compatible steel door.
Remove the broken panel or prepare the approved door cut-out and install the matched glass and lite kit.
Check glazing support, stops, finish, door operation and the surrounding frame before sign-off.

When the wired panel is cracked or shattered but the lite frame, stops and surrounding door or steel frame remain usable, the job can stay focused on the glass. The failed panel is removed, the opening is cleaned and a compatible replacement is installed.
Some compatible steel doors can be prepared for a new vision opening. The door is measured and cut for the correct lite kit, then the matched GPW glass is installed. This is different from replacing a panel that is already present.
Common applications include listed fire-door vision panels, service-room and electrical-room openings, stairwell or corridor doors, sidelites and fixed steel-frame windows. The correct product, lite kit, size and surrounding assembly must be confirmed before work proceeds.
Not every steel door can be field-modified. For fire-rated openings, vision-panel glazing must follow the door listing, labeled light-kit requirements and manufacturer instructions.
